An overview of the book (121 English words): The books collects a series of scholarly articles, journal or periodical papers in the field study of comparative education, representing a wide range of some renowned comparativists?viewpoints, coming from 10 countries: Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Russia, United Kingdom and United States of America. The first four articles focus on historical development of and paradigmatic shifts in comparative education. From the fifth to the twentieth article, a chronological review of theories and methodological frameworks of comparative education come out. The last four articles critically reconstruct the ideological foundations of comparative education and its theoretical integration into educational policies and other pragmatic aspects. The content index of the book was once commented by two renowned international comparativists called Profs. Michel Debeauvais and Robert Cowen. |
